Rangers Apprentice

This book is about a person named Will who wanted to go to battleschool but got rejected. Halt a stealthy Ranger accepted him as a Ranger's apprentice. Rangers are basically people who catch criminals or act as scouts in war.  Will thought that the rangers' weapons, bow and a saxe knife and a throwing knife were quite useless but he found them quite useful in fights. Lately the rangers think that Morgaroth an evil guy is planning a war and he sent some powerful creatures named the Kalkara to assassinate the king's strongest men.  Two had already died. This time Halt and Will and one of Halt's former apprentices were going to track the Kalkara down but got ambushed by them.  Baron Arald was fast enough to get there and kill the Kalkara.  One had died but the other one wounded the Baron and dazed Sir Rodney with its hypnotizing eye.  Halt could do nothing  Then Will saw a torch still lit by the Baron on the ground and remembered that the Kalkaras are afraid of fire.   He dipped his arrow in the fire and shot it straight at the Kalkara.  It tried to swipe the flames off but it just spread on its hand and it soon got burnt to death. Crystal Runners

This story is about a girl named Jaelah and his brother Ayden.  It started of when their father went crystal running and came back with crystal flashback and the crystals he got had no light in them. So they went to the crystal running site and found out that the lifeline of the Earth was dying.  Suddenly there was an earthquake and Jaelah and Ayden fell back and it suddenly stopped.  Jaelah was sad and angry because if they had no crystals when they came back they might get kicked out of the village.  So Jaelah went off by herself to go further into the caves and found a new lifeline.   Jaelah called Ayden over to tap the lifeline and this led them to finding the prince of the surface dwellers.  Because they lived underground they headed up to the surface and returned the prince. Then they found out all the lifelines did not connect to each other and the Earth will shake itself apart and it will die.  Then they met their grandfather who told them that they needed to head towards the Fire Mountain where dragons lived. So they got past the dragons and headed down a cave where their ancestors lived and found she had the royal bloodline and could save the world by restoring the broken crystals that could protect the world from shaking apart. She saved the world and that's the end.

Horrible Science Poison

This Horrible Science book contains information about poisons like nerve poisons and metalloids.  It also tells of  poisonous animals that will harm you such as a king cobra.   Every vegetable has poison that can't harm humans but can harm animals and insects.   Such a poison is garlic if a slug or snail eats it.   It will start oozing out slime and die.  I have enjoyed this book a lot. The last thing of all, anything around you may be poisonous you never know.
